The opposition should give a positive response to President offer to Jointly work for promotion of democracy and development of the country, said Parliamentarians Commission for Human Rights (PCHR) Chairman Riaz Fatyana here on Friday. In his comments on President Musharraf address, he said the opposition should avoid policy of confrontation and accept dialogue offer for the cause of national development. That would lead towards an atmosphere of national conciliation, he added.

Raiz Fatyana said the credit to devolve power to grassroots levels had gone to President Musharraf, which showed his commitment towards promotion of democracy in the country.

He said President Musharraf in his address also clarified the government policy on Kashmir that Pakistan would not show unilateral flexibility on it.

The PCHR Chairman said the President made it clear that Pakistan wanted good relations with India but it wanted to find out solution of Kashmir issue according to the aspirations of Kashmiri people.

He said the President had taken the nation into confidence on agriculture and other policies of the government commenting it a good step.
